A panel session “How to manage changes in international trade?” was held within the framework of the International Customs Forum. The main focus was on the implementation of digital tools used by customs authorities and Russian companies to manage changes in international trade.

Vladimir Ivin, Deputy Head of the FCS of Russia, emphasized that the starting point in improving customs technologies is to work with big data. “If earlier customs technologies were based on goods, now technological support from the IT point of view is in the active stage of reforming. We hope to switch to a new operating system in the near future, practically with blockchain elements,” Vladimir Ivin said.

Russian entrepreneurs noted the need to introduce advanced management tools in the international trade. According to Boris Neiman, General Director of PAL, the official service partner of the Alibaba.com trading platform in Russia, 70-80% of entrepreneurs are ready to interact online at almost every stage due to emergence of new digital tools: from the moment of ordering goods to communicating with the seller. Now the purchase decision is made in about 2 days.
